Real gear used by real people.

We don't get this stuff for free, and we use it hard.

You'll see a lot of military surplus and mil-spec equipment along with commercial gear. It seems that nobody reviews military surplus, which is too bad, since a lot of it is not only inexpensive, but ideal for hiking and backpacking. Too rugged for hiking? Too heavy? Sometimes commercial stuff is better . . . like the CamelBak Blowfish, or the Sierra Designs Sandman, but sometimes you want something that is tried and true in the field.  How can you make a decision if you've never seen the stuff?
