This proprietary upgrade of the USGI poncho liner is manufactured and sold by the US Cavalry folks who have extensive distribution in their own stores and on military exchanges throughout the country.

For about ten dollars more than the government issue model, you get a much warmer, better made liner that used 3M's Thinsulate material as insulation.

This stuff works! It is maybe twice as warm as the regular insulation, at least in my experience using it in cold-weather camping trips. Often, I take one along in the spring to supplement my lighter weight sleeping bags in case it gets colder than expected along some remote river bank!

The construction quality is much better than the Army unit, as the stitching does not pull out!

Get a poncho with the liner if youdon't already have one. It can combine to form an emergency sleeping bag. Also, look for the conversion kit Brigade Quartermasters sells… it's worth a look.
